Welcome to my blog, the purpose of which is to share my fascination with God’s word, the Bible.
The Holy Bible is an amazing book. It teaches us the nature of God and the nature of man. It is a collection of history with commentary, imagery through grand and sweeping poetry, and epic stories with heroes and anti-heroes. It was written by some of the greatest authors who ever lived, inspired by the greatest muse available. Just like many of my favorite books that I read over and over or movies I have seen repeatedly, I find new insights and details each time I reread it. I even have favorite sections that I go to, just like fast forwarding a movie to a favorite scene.
I welcome input from Bible scholars, but please note that I am not encumbered by ordination nor a seminary education. As such, I may occasionally go down the wrong path. Maybe together we can find the right one. Reason, science and logic are not enemies of the Bible, rather they are essential tools for exploring the Bible. Everyone’s experience and knowledge contributes to our understanding. You cannot find the right path with your eyes closed.
God gave us life and the freedom to live it. The greatest thing about God’s gifts of life and freedom is that we can not only be wrong, but spectacularly, gloriously wrong. Being wrong gives us doubt and doubt gives us both compassion and the ability to learn. God also gave us Grace, which is the ability to change.
If you have the courage to share and the humility to respect and listen, please join the conversation. It’s got to be fun!
